Testing
All skaters will be tested on their skills during the last week of the session. Skaters are tested to a standard, not compared to each other, and must master each skill in the class before advancing to the next level. All skaters who have never taken lessons before will start in either Snowplow Sam 1 (4yrs. – Kindergarten), Basic 1, Hockey 1 (1st grade – 15yrs.), or Adult 1 (16yrs. and older). During the first class only, the instructor will determine if the skaters are in the appropriate class. If a change has to be made, it must be done during the first week only and must be approved by the Skating Director.

Practice Times
Learn to Skate  classes are not held on a public session and therefore will have a designated practice area.  Please be advised that the practice time is strictly for skaters enrolled in our Learn-To-Skate group lesson program. No other skaters are permitted on the ice.

Skate Rental
Skate rental is FREE for group lessons. If you have your own skates, please feel free to use them.

Public Session Pass
We offer each Learn-To-Skate student a 10 public session punch pass at a $10 discount from the normal charge, so just $25.00!  This will allow skaters to practice at their convenience, and at a discounted price. Only one (1) discounted punch pass will be offered to each Learn-To-Skate student for each session. The card does not expire if all of the punches are not used by the end of the session and anyone may use the card. Punch cards are NOT replaced if lost or stolen.

Foot Wear on Ice
ONLY SKATES ARE ALLOWED ON THE ICE. Absolutely nobody wearing shoes is allowed on the ice at any time.

Spectators
We ask that all individuals watching the lessons observe from the bleachers or lobby. Our goal is to keep the skaters focused on the lesson and the skills they are learning.

Suggested Equipment and Clothing
Wear only 1 pair of thin socks. Wearing a heavy pair or more than one pair may result in blisters. Wear something that is warm and easy to move in. Thick bulky jackets and/or snowsuits make it very difficult for skaters to bend over and move. We highly suggest that all Tot skaters wear a bike helmet or stocking hat to protect them if they fall down. All skaters should wear gloves or mittens when skating. They will help protect and keep their hands warm when touching the ice.

Refund Policy
Refunds will be given up to the second lesson only (not any time after for any reason), however, the cost of the first lesson will be deducted from the total. In addition, all refunds will incur a $20.00 processing fee

Making up a missed Class
The Forum encourages you to make up any class you have missed within the current session. Make-up’s are permitted any time during the current session. . Make-up slips are available at the front desk and must be filled out completely before making up the class. Prior permission or registration is not required for a make-up class, simply fill out the make-up form and give it to the instructor the day that you will be attending the make-up class.
